Charter Cap

We support the lifting of the charter to 460 ONLY IF the charter school law is amended to provide true accountability and transparency by mandating charters serving Special Ed and ELL students - no longer counseling or pushing them out; state comptroller audits of charter schools; parent associations / parent-teacher associations in every charter school; parent, community and CEC input in the siting of charters in NYC; charter parent representation on the CEC; monthly board meetings held at the school; and the NYC DoE no longer being allowed to authorize charter schools.
