About Us

New York Charter Parents Association is The Independent Voice of Public Charter Parents in New York State.  We are an independent nonprofit organization founded to advocate on behalf of all public charter parents throughout New York State.  We are funded by donations from supporters of public charter schools.

We will advocate on behalf of public charter parents for:

1. Public School Choice
2. Equal funding for public charter schools from State and Federal monies
3. Equal access to public school buildings
4. A reserved seat on every Community Education Council (CEC) for a public charter school representative in the New York City School District
5. Lifting of the cap on charter schools in New York State

NYCHARTERPARENTS.ORG is an online community where parents and supporters of public charter schools can come together, share information and mobilize. The website was started because of a need for a central online presence where parents may learn more about public charter schools, download school applications and advocate for more public charter schools in New York State.
